Bowery Women: Poems

Bob Holman and Marjorie Tesser, Editors (Bowery Books)

Both local and universal in scope, the dynamic anthology Bowery Women: Poems showcases one “signature poet” from scores of women who have delighted, inspired, and shocked audiences at New York City’s Bowery Poetry Club performance space. Embodying the collection’s diversity, the poets reading this evening include Martha Rhodes, founder of Four Way Books and the Readings on the Bowery series; “hypnotic surrealist” poet and performer Janet Hamill; award-winning poet and playwright Cynthia Kraman; Trinidadian artist and teacher Cheryl Boyce Taylor; and former paramedic and guitarist Maggie Dubris. Join us for a tribute to another great New York performance space and the women who rock it.

A reception and book signing will follow the reading.
