Sexperts night with Virginia Vitzthum and Grant Stoddard, at KGB
January 23, 2007 / 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
KGB Bar, 85 East 4th Street, NYC 10003
In I Love you, Let’s Meet, Virginia Vitzthum explores e-dating’s opportunities, pitfalls, and contradictions through the stories of 16 veteran online daters – and through her own experiences in the field. Vitzthum talked to women and men, gay and straight, urban and rural, geeks and technophobes from ages 25 to 70 to report on the state of intimacy in these wired (and weird) times.Virginia Vitzthum has written for publications including Ms., the Village Voice, Elle, Time Out and salon.com, where she was the sex columnist. She’s also written a play and a screenplay. I Love You, Let’s Meet is her first book.
Delightfully wide-eyed and wonderfully ironic, Working Stiff: The Misadventures of an Accidental Sexpert is a unique coming-of-age story from a witty, irreverent new talent. Grant Stoddard’s popular Nerve.com column “I Did It for Science” exposed most of him to thousands of readers, and Working Stiff shares the rest with behind-the-scenes stories as the self-professed “sexual nonstarter” participated in a quasi-sexual food fight with two gay men, attended an upscale orgy, played bridge in the nude, and had sex on the subway.
